Back to TopHow do I unzip files ?A ZIP file is usually one file that is compressed and bundles many files into one in for ease of transfer, security or to save space. Think of a ZIP file as a closed container that compacts everything tight. There are two types of ZIP files. The first type is a Zip file that needs a program to unzip (extract) the files such as a program called PKZIP or WinZip . The second type is self-extracting. If the "UNZIP" program is installed on your Windows system, usually all you have to do is click on the ZIP file and unzip it into a temporary folder. Once the files are unpacked from the archive file click on the file called Setup.exe. Windows XP and 2003 have built in extraction abilities so you do not need to obtain WinZip or PKZIP to extract files. Simply click on the file and copy and paste to your destination folder. Click on this link to download WinZIP 8.1 trial edition if you need to un-archive our demos. Please inquire. Back to TopWhy does the program not run?A common reason why your program may not start is because it has gone beyond the trial period or it may not be a legal copy. If your program does not start contact us immediately for free support to registered users. If it is a demo copy simply re-install the demo. If an error message appears please be sure to let us know the error message. Please have your user ID ready or e-mail your user ID. If you do not have a user ID please be prepared to fax a proof of purchase for the product. If you encounter a "BDE" or "BDE Database Engine" error it means either the database engine is not configured or your program is pointing to a database that may not be in the correct path. If you have an older version of BDE on your computer you may have to upgrade to the current BDE. Please contact us for further support or BDE upgrade. TIP: Once you have installed a TIS-Program to a default or custom folder do not move the folder or any contents to any other folder unless you are copying files for backup purposes. Back to TopWhat is Delphi and the BDE?Delphi and the BDE are Borland products. Delphi is an object oriented programming language that claims to have the fastest 32-bit compiler. The BDE is short for Borland Database Engine. We also use other data engines such as ADO and Microsoft's ODBC data source for SQL type data applications and connections. In 2005 will eliminate the need of the BDE and will go to a new database platform called Accuracer. Please visit the web site for details at www.aidaim.com . Delphi produces robust applications and is derived from and based on the Pascal language. Delphi is the engine for many Windows products. Delphi allows us to create dynamic applications. We can use database tables such as MS-Access, Oracle, dBASE and Paradox. By using common data structures you can use your data in other applications. For example, many of our customers use data from a customer file to pre-print custom forms. This is not an easy option with many proprietary "off the shelf" accounting programs. Why do we use Delphi? To put it simply because of the power and data security protection that programs made with Delphi. We use Delphi for creating applications for accounting, rapid order entry and communications. There are thousands of Delphi web sites for more information. Simply do a Google search on Borland Delphi to see what we mean. You do not need to worry about the technical side of Delphi programming. Delphi takes years to master so let us do the work for you. If you have a problem Track Information Systems, our staff and our peers can help you. Back to TopWhen will I see future upgrades ?Upgrades are usually done once a year unless there is a critical bug which we will fix as soon as possible. Please e-mail us if you have any custom programming requirements at support@trackinfosystems.net Back to TopWhat is RTF?RTF is the abbreviation for Rich Text Format.
