How do I unzip files?

A ZIP file is usually one file that is compressed and bundles many files into one in for ease of transfer, security or to save space.  Think of a ZIP file as a closed container that compacts everything tight.

There are two types of ZIP files. The first type is a Zip file that needs a program to unzip (extract) the files such as a program called PKZIP or WinZip. The second type is self-extracting.

If the "UNZIP" program is installed on your Windows system, usually all you have to do is click on the ZIP file and unzip it into a temporary folder. Once the files are unpacked from the archive file click on the file called Setup.exe.

Windows XP and 2003 have built in extraction abilities so you do not need to obtain WinZip or PKZIP to extract files. Simply click on the file and copy and paste to your destination folder.

Click on this link to download WinZIP 8.1 trial edition if you need to un-archive our demos.

Where can I find Windows or Software Support?

We are committed to providing the best support possible. Our mandate is to provide you with support and training for our programs, your operating system and computer. Please contact us to help you with your questions.

Why does the program not run?

1. A common reason why your program may not start is because it has gone beyond the trial period or it may not be a legal copy. If your program does not start contact us immediately for free support to registered users.  If it is a demo copy simply re-install the demo.  It may not be installed correctly if you have problems.

2. Be sure the program is in the correct folder as some of our software titles must be in a drive location or folder as we have defined referred to as the path. Check your documentation or instructions.

3. If an error message appears please be sure to let us know the error message. Please have your user ID ready or e-mail your user ID.  If you do not have a user ID please be prepared to fax a proof of purchase for the product.

4. Some of our applications require that you run as a Win 98 application  if trying to run on a Windows Vista, 2003 or Windows XP systems. Using Windows Explorer right click on the executable fie.  Look for the run as properties.

5. A socket connection error means you are not connecting to the server. Please email for support.

TIP: Once you have installed a TIS-Program to a default or custom folder do not move the folder or any contents to any other folder unless you are copying files for backup purposes, otherwise it may not run.

What is Delphi and Elevate DB?

Delphi is an object oriented programming language that we use to create our software applications. Elevate DB is now the core database engine that we use with our client-server software.

Delphi produces robust applications and is derived from the Pascal language. What used to be called Pascal is now Delphi.  Delphi allows us to create very dynamic applications.

Elevate DB is a database that offers stable multi-user or client server access over networks.  It has become our favorite because it is easy to maintain and the backend support is very good.  Elevate DB is used by major companies such as British Airways. Elevate DB takes half the administration overhead required by MS SQL. To learn more about Elevate DB go to www.elevatesoftware.com.

We also use simple single file database platforms such as Absolute DB by Component Ace and Accuracer by AidAim for our desktop applications. Each offer an incredible file system that keeps all tables and indexes imbedded into one single file, which makes it easy to manage.  This makes applications very easy to install and very portable unlike other database systems.

All of our data systems may be used in other subsystems or applications. We offer new tools allowing you to exchange data between nearly any Windows application.

Why do we use Delphi? To put it simply because of the power and data security protection that programs made with Delphi. We use Delphi for creating applications for accounting, rapid order entry, network communications, and interfacing to our weigh scale applications as an example. There are thousands of Delphi web sites for more information. Do a www.Google.com search on Borland Delphi to see what we mean.

You do not need to worry about the technical side of Delphi programming.  Delphi takes many years to master so let us do the work for you. If you have a problem Track Information Systems and our peers can help you in likely any situation.

What about software upgrades?

Our software upgrades are usually done once a year unless there is a critical bug which we will fix as soon as possible. It is important that you tell us of any improvements or fixes we should make. By working with us the additional cost of needing outside support will be saved amongst customers.

Upgrades are free to users who have purchased annual support after three months from the date of purchase of their software. If you do not purchase support then upgrades are at full cost less 20 to 40 percent after one year.

We have a business cycle that we now follow so any comments you may have are important to us. By providing feedback you will save development time and cost for all of us.

Please e-mail us if you have any custom programming requirements at   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

What is RTF?

RTF is the abbreviation for Rich Text Format. RTF files can be read by most Windows word processors, such as, MS Word or Corel WordPerfect. We often exchange document files in RTF and PDF format.
